Eating out:

Hotel du Vin one of our firm favourites. Can be pricey but has special offers too. Definitely somewhere for a special occasion and definitely book well ahead! Hotel du Vin website.

Sam's tucked away in Kemptown. Very good reports from many guests who've eaten here. We tried it ourselves on 9th August 2009 and loved it! Sams of Brighton.

La Cappanina is a fine, family friendly Italian restaurant a few minutes walk from the Avalon. Cosy, authentic and friendly and not overpriced. And Reno is a great host.

Cote Brasserie on Church Street is another firm favourite - a landmark building and close to the cosy pubs and bars of the North Laine area. Bang opposite the entrance to the Dome. we recommend you book. 01273 687541.

Terre a Terre is highly recommended by our vegetarian guests and some of Tom's family who are lifelong vegetarians. Terre a Terre

Drakes is a hotel and restaurant very close to us down on the seafront. It's a trendy place and attracts a certain type of guest - just look at the cars parked in their forecourt, more value than most of us will earn in a lifetime! However it is also fun to visit, has a funky bar, not stuffy at all restaurant and oozes class. Drakes of Brighton
